A commercial motorcyclist, also known as “Okada Man” have been reportedly shot dead last night along water walks road Abakaliki by an unidentified police officer attached to the Anti Kidnapping squad, Ebonyi state police command.

Reports reaching our desk revealed that the Motorcyclist who was carrying a female passenger was flagged down by the police officers who later demanded N50 him.

The Motorcyclist was said to have handed over a N20 note to the officers and was about to move when one of the officers shot at him with his riffle, shattering his head into pieces.

The incident was said to have caused panic as residents around the area were seen burning tires, protesting the killing.

Officers were said to have been deployed to the scene of the incident in other to restore sanity to the area.

Meanwhile, the Ebonyi state Governor has for ordered the arrest of the said police officer and have warned that his administration will not condone any Killings of innocent citizens of the state.

Police spokesman, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident and said the suspect who was tried yesterday in his Department, Anti-Kidnapping, AK has been summarily dismissed from the force and will be charged to court immediately.
