Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has resigned her appointment from President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.

She hinged her action on the need to run for elective office come February 2019 to represent the Damaturu/Tarmuwa/Gujba/Gulani federal constituency of Yobe State.

She defeated her son-in law, Mohammed Bukar Abba Ibrahim to emerge flag bearer of House of representative seat for Damaturu/Tarmuwa/Gujba/Gulani constituency of Yobe State last year’s October at the All Progressive Congress (APC) the primary election.

She polled 1,295 votes to defeat her step son who got 15 votes.

Following Hajiya Ibrahim resignation, she became the sixth minister to resigned from the federal cabinet.

Buhari appointed her to man the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alongside Geoffrey Onyeama in 2015.

She confirmed to some State House Correspondents that Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting was going to be her last, shortly before the commencement of the meeting.
