Nigerian Youths have been called upon to use opportunities provided by sports as an unifying factor to rediscover themselves especially at this critical period occasioned by the Covid-19 Pandemic ravaging the world economy.

The Enugu State Commissioner for youth and sports, Manfred Nzekwe made this call during the inauguration of board members of Enugu state Kick boxing association at Enugu, South East Nigeria.

The commissioner charged the board members to be proactive and bring their wealth of experience to bear in discharging their duties.

The Director Coaching, Ministry of youths and sports Enugu State, Ken Onuaguluchi and the head Technical/ Instructor, Dr. Vitus Otti called on other associations to emulate kickboxing because sports development cannot be left in the hand of government alone.

Responding, Chairman Enugu state kick boxing association, Amos Oshi and a board member who is visually impaired, Obiora Okoh thanked the governor and government of Enugu state for finding them worthy to serve and promised to deliver their given mandate.

Kick boxing has grown to be a popular sports in almost all parts of the world and its quite increasing in Nigeria in terms of awareness and popularity.
It became officially approved scoring sports in Nigeria during National Sports Festival Abeokuta “Gateway Games” 2006.
