The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, has called for a full-scale investigation to unravel the mystery behind the murder and death of the traditional ruler of Oruku community, Nkanu East local government council of the state.

The traditional ruler was said to have been killed by armed men suspected to be policemen on December 26, 2020 at about 1630hrs which caused tension and uproar in the community.

However, in order to restore normalcy and forestall the possible breakdown of law and order, the Police Commissioner promptly ordered the deployment of security operatives to the area and the launch of a full-scale investigation into the incidence.

A statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, noted that “the Commissioner, while reiterating commitment to meticulously investigate and bring the perpetrators of the alleged murder of the Traditional Ruler and the ensuing acts of violence to book, has called on residents of the Community to remain calm and eschew acts capable of further inciting violence in the area while the investigation lasts. He warns that anyone found wanting will be made to face the full weight of the law.”
