The number one youth organisation in Nigeria, Youth Assembly of Nigeria, YAN, under the leadership of the Acting National Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ezenwata Nwangwu, has congratulated Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on her appointment as the new Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
The Acting Speaker through the Directorate of Media and publicity of the Assembly under the leadership of Comr Dafe Elliot, noted that “Dr. Ngozi’s experience and competence can be counted upon to make discharging her duties in her new office easier to benefit the entire world’s economy.
“She has demonstrated her capacity in previous positions she has held through which she impacted greatly to the development of both developed and developing countries.”
The World Trade Organisation WTO been an international Organisation established to supervise and liberalised world trade, is the successor to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) which was created in 1947. The organisation began operations on January 1st 1955 and “we at YAN have so much confidence that she has all it takes to lead the organisation to an enviable height.
“All of us at Youth Assembly of Nigeria heartily felicitate with our own dear sister and mother Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and also enjoin her to justify this confidence reposed in her through quality service delivery,” the statement reads.
