Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu has confirmed media reports that indeed there was a robbery attack on the residence of Ibrahim Gambari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.
Peoples Gazette had reported that the residences of Ibrahim Gambari and Abubakar Maikano, the chief of staff and admin officer, respectively, were attacked inside the precinct of the Presidential Villa which forced the two senior aides to President Muhammadu Buhari to abandon their residences.
Mr Shehu in a statement on his Facebook page confirmed the attack occurred early Monday morning.
The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful,” the president’s spokesman said.
“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”
