The official unveiling of the Enugu Unity Park by His Excellency Rt Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State was a clear testimony of Gov Ugwuanyi’s vision and outstanding leadership qualities. It was indeed, an Unveiling of a Historic Tourism Centre in a peaceful and secured State.
The Beautifully created Enugu Unity Park by Gov Ugwuanyi houses the largest sculptured lion in the world.
Sculpture credit to; Dr Okey Ibenegbu; a Graduate of Fine and Applied Art from the prestigious Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu,and still a Principal Lecturer in IMT, (my Alma Mater).

Enugu State is the administrative Capital of Igbo Nation, a State of shield and protection for every Igbo elite and all other Igbo sons and daughters. Research has shown that It is harder to lead Enugu State as a Governor than any other State in South East because every Enugu State Governor must strive indefatigably to maintain peace and security, for any society without peace and security is on the threshold of comatose and extinction, that is why Gov Ugwuanyi’s cardinal Leadership mantra is on maintenance of peace and Security.
Enugu Unity Park has formed part of Gov Ugwuanyi’s historic administrative giant strides. No wonder people thrung the Unity Park on Daily Basis like the cluster of bees on the honey.
Worthy of note is that a beautiful, peaceful and secured State is akin to an ultra-tourists destination, and such State with tourism potentials attract a robust economic inflows just like the United States, Spain, France, Rwanda, Tanzania, Island of Maldives, Island of Palau, Grenada, Seychelles, St Kitts and Nevis, Buckingham Palace,just to mention but a few.
Enugu State of Nigeria is fast becoming another good example of a Tourism viable State.
The United States which ranks highest in the world of Tourism IGR accounts 210 Billion Dollars annually in Tourism, though this figure represents 1.1 per cent of its annual GDP.
However, the Island of Maldives which its Tourism annual GDP represents 61 per cent with the figure of over 1.5 Billion Dollars finds Tourism indispensable because of its economic potentialities.
