Ahead of the International Youth Day Celebration slated to be celebrated globally on August 12, to commemorate the importance of youths in the global society, the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV), CSP Ebere Amaraizu, has described the youths as strategic partners in the national development and the global society at large.
Amaraizu called on all relevant stakeholders to join hands with POCACOV in creating a sustainable framework which will promote youth value reorientation, encourage self discovery and strategic leadership direction.
He maintained that the youths have got a lot of energy and with their significant numbers and fullscale mobilization as well as their energies well channelled through proper engagement of popular participation, they will impact on the society.
“There should be platform that will encourage creativity and manipulative skills amongst youths populace.
“There is also need of the understanding of the challenges of the youths with a view to proferring sustainable solutions like the Neighbourhood Sporting events of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other vices (POCACOV) for self discovery, engagement and strategic leadership direction.
“The youth privileges are important and have to be understood for effective mobilizations and engagements,” he said.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, however, advised the youths to be law abiding and positive in their various approaches as the future belong only to those who know the beauty of it.
He reminded Nigerian youths the need of not allowing their emotions to cause commotion but to remain law abiding by shunning cultism, substance and drug abuse, violent behaviours and other vices in order to be that champion of their dream.
