It was a tragic evening for residents of Keffi, Nasarawa state, as two busses loaded with passengers were involved in a fatal accident.
One of the busses belonging to Benue Link Company was said to be heading to Makurdi when it collided with a yet to be identified bus, heading to Abuja, along the Abuja-Makurdi road.
While the yet to be identified bus went up in flames, passersby were seen trying to evacuate people from the two busses as seen in a video posted by a Facebook user, Queen Annie Enai.
Reports says all passengers in the accident might have died as they looked lifeless and only an eighteen months old baby was said to have survived the fatal accident
Speaking to a friend of one of the victims, he said: “A friend who spent last weekend in my house in Markudi left around 3:00pm for Abuja for a court case tomorrow and was involved in the accident. His phone was picked by one of the passersby”.
As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the accident could not be ascertained.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to the Akwanga General Hospital.
