Labour Minister, Dr. Chris Ngige

Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has revealed that his supporters will help him raise money to purchase the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential nomination forms ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Ngige said he never had plans of spending such amount as he only budgeted N50million for the purchase of the forms.
.
Although his plans was affected after the APC pegged its presidential forms at N100 million.

Speaking during an interview on channels TV, he said, “It does not matter whether I am happy with the price or not. That is what my party NEC fixed, I won’t crucify them,” he said.

“…I was budgeting N50 million…I have supporters, don’t worry about me. They will contribute,” he added.

Ngige who refused to criticize the party’s decision regarding the price of forms, rather justified the party’s decision stating that the price was placed so because, after elections, many candidates fail to contribute to the party.

Recall that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the APC had on Wednesday, fixed the cost of its interest form at N30 million and the nomination form at N70 million.

A 50 per cent discount was, however, approved for candidates less than 40 years and free tickets for women and persons living with disabilities.
