The governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has stepped down from the presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Sokoto governor and the chairman of PDP Governors Forum said he stepped down for Atiku.
The primary election of the main opposition is currently underway at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The race is expected to be a 4 way race with Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Tambuwal and former president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki
