Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Sunday night wiped-out a family of eight persons in Chol village of Vwang District in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident which occured at about 7pm also inflicted gunshots injuries and machete cuts on women and children who are receiving medical treatment at Vom Christian Hospital.

It was learned that the family was preparing to go to bed at about 7:30pm when the gunmen invaded the house and wiped the entire house.

Those who were killed includes Pam Gyang, his wife, six children and they were all buried in one grave.

A traditional ruler, Gwom Chugwi, Da Atyos Mwadkwon Mandung who confirmed the incident said eight persons were killed and others sustained gunshots injuries.

“I was told at about 7:30pm on Sunday that some gunmen invaded Chol village in Chugwi community of Vwang District and killed eight people.

“Those injured were taken to Vom Christian Hospital, we don’t know why the attack because my people have been living peaceful. We are working with the Local Government Chairman to find out those who carry out the attack and we cal on security to protect our people and bring the perpetrators to book.” He stated.

The Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong confirmed the attack and said 7 people were killed and those injured are receiving treatment in the hospital.

He called in the security agencies to safeguard the vulnerable communities for further invasion and arrest the perpetrators to give justice.

Member representing Jos South Jos East in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos condemned the attack and said it was because of insecurity that he endorsed the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He commensurate with the bereaved familiar and said the security agencies has failed to protect Nigerians.

Bagos urged the people to be vigilant and defend themselves in all circumstances as government has failed in its responsibility to protect the people.
