Dajie Odok Named POCACOV’s New Ambassador in Oyo State

The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV has announced Dajie Odok, a seasoned broadcast journalist working with RadioIITA at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA, as its ambassador in Oyo State, Nigeria as part of its campaign to eradicate cultism and substance abuse among the youths in the country.

This follows high expectations of the kickoff of the Oyo state chapter of the campaign in South West, Nigeria with awareness creation, and sensitization programs in schools, worship centers, communities, and markets by the Ambassadors.

POCACOV is a Nigeria Police Force Community Policing Initiative and Public Relations Tool working with different stakeholders and multi Agencies and galvanizing their support and partnership as well as enhancing participation in problem-solving, for a safe, peaceful and secured community.

While congratulating the new POCACOV Ambassador, National Coordinator, and Chief Superintendent of Police, Ebere Amarizu said  Dajie Odok’s track record of professionalism, excellence, and tenacity in journalism earned her the ambassadorial title, and he is confident that it would be routed in support of
the Police campaign against cultism, drug abuse and other vices among the youths.

Odok is a multiple award-winning science broadcast journalist with over a decade of experience, a competent and knowledgeable communicator, who understands the broadcast medium and its audiences.

She currently leads a team of young, and passionate broadcast journalists disseminating
science-based agriculture knowledge to farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, value chain actors, national program partners, extension workers, and other information users.

“I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence of the Nigerian Police Force, through POCACOV, for selecting me as one of its ambassadors. It is a call for selfless service to the youths, and the country, Nigeria, to which I will passionately devote myself.

“Also, I look forward to supporting POCACOV along with other volunteers in its advocacy to ensure adequate education of relevant stakeholders such as traditional rulers, town union presidents, political leaders, youth leaders, market union leaders, students leaders, etc. on security consciousness, and the
dangers of drug abuse and cultism,” Dajie Odok said.
