It was a moment of joy and celebration by Community members as two leading candidates for Ahiazu Mbaise Constituency seat in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Nduka Anyanwu and Hon.Rex Okoro from All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA )and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) respectively,embraced each other at the opening ceremony of 2022 Mbaise Charity Cup in Imo state over the weekend.
It was gathered that the Ceremony which took place at  St Jude Catholic Church Playing ground Amuzi Ahiazu Mbaise Imo State witnessed huge attendance from amongst members of the community as well as other relevant Stakeholders was made possible by the POCACOV Volunteer Club Chairman Imo state ,Kennedy Onwunali under Our Youth Must Thrive Campaign of POCACOV for a functional community.
There was wide jubilation courtesy of the epoch making event which also brought moment of smiles and jubilations for the supporters of the two opposing parties and which was also used moment of peace Accord to strenghten their relationship for a functional community irrespective of their Political Affiliations and differences.The Two candidates after embracing each other ,agree to sincerely pull their resources together to promote unity,peace and development of the community and to lay a strong framework using the instrumentality of community sports(SPORTS OGBE) in order to make youths in the area to thrive for a functional community.
Speaking during the event,Hon Nduka Anyanwu thanked the POCACOV Chairman and all stakeholders on the event and expressed happiness just as he maintained that he was motivated to go into sponsoring of the community football event in order to inspire ,reorient and motivate the youths for excellence.He further pointed out that we can together make our youth to believe to believe in themselves for a greater society.Lets unite and be stronger as we used to be and that’s the essence of this community football (BOOLU OGBE EVENT).
Hon Rex Okoro on his own expressed happiness on the event and maintain that Sports is very essential for the young people and my promise is enshrined in my Manifesto which is anchored on community sports development (SPORTS OGBE) to make our young minds continue to thrive for excellence.He promised an enabling framework which will see that the event is made an annual one and providing platform of sports talent harvest to help expose them to career opportunities and that way we make their joining bad gang impossible.He further highlighted that he was going to involve all relevant stakeholders for talent discoveries so that we can have the likes of Chioma Ajunwa in Ahiazu Mbaise.
The POCACOV Chairman Imo state,Kennedy Onwunali who also is the FA Chairman Aboh Mbaise, charged all stakeholders across the country to be part of the ongoing POCACOV Community Sports activity which will not only helping to enhance socio-economic and peaceful development of communities but will help our young minds to thrive by not becoming members of organized criminal groups (OCGS) for a functional community.He advised young minds to stay away from the Substance and drug abuse and work to become champion for a greater tomorrow.
