Peter Mbah: Greatness Is Upon Enugu State- KGB Oguakwa

A Legal Practitioner and two-term former Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, Dr. KGB Oguakwa has described “the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 elections, Dr. Peter Mbah, as the clearest sign that, finally, greatness is imminently upon our dear Enugu State”.

Xraying what he termed “the Dr.Peter Mbah-Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai dynamic duo: – a refreshing combo of active and exhilarating hope”, in an interview with Journalist101, the versatile Intellectual Property Law Practitioner, Scholar and Politician asserted that “never before in the history of democratic governance in Enugu have we stood so excitedly on the threshold of a history of monumentally positive proportions”.

In obvious reference to the intimidating profile of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Governorship Candidate Dr. Peter Mbah, Oguakwa continued, “this quiet, humble, compassionate and restlessly positive Peter Mbah is a verifiable success in his personal, family, professional and business life. He is very well educated. He has shown the humility to accommodate the intelligence of others hence he built a Team of carefully selected Professionals and grew his flagship Pinnacle Oil Limited to the very heady pinnacle of Nigeria’s strategic downstream petroleum sector.“

Oguakwa invites Enugu State to joyously anticipate “the imminence of a dramatic refreshing dawn in multi sectoral dynamism which will, at the one and the same time, restore the self-pride of ndi Enugu by consolidating peace and security, massively revamping and providing infrastructure, create, nurture and attract an industrial , technological, tourism and agricultural revolution which will create innumerable jobs, engage our teeming youth population and lift you and I, our children and our communities out of avoidable poverty.”

Referring to what he termed “an expected and anticipated yoke of peer jealousy” Oguakwa invited politicians in Enugu State to “rather than sulk at the appearance of this bright star on the horizon of leadership in Enugu come 2023, we should have the courage to step down our individual ambitions however vaunting, and seize the opportunity provided by Peter Mbah’s historic candidacy to join all hands on Enugu’s progressive and all-inclusive united deck”.

Expressing his disappointment in what he termed “ frivolous, childish and fable-fantasy-like allegations” against the Candidate, Oguakwa retorted “Na wa o. What are we even talking about? Ebeano era? Ebeano era? Was almost all of Enugu not Ebeano, yesterday? I am ebeano. You were ebeano. Are you thereby no longer yourself today? Am I thereby no longer distinctly KGB Oguakwa just because I was in ebeano PDP? Look at my cap, does it not say “ KGB Oguakwa Supports Peter Mbah for Governor”. I am my own brand. At over 50, I know enough to decide and support this pristine “once-in-a-lifetime” Candidate with my brand. Today, you are also your own family name brand. Zaa afa gi, biko! All of them contesting for Governorship in those other Parties were all Ebeano. If you see a good product like Peter Mbah, please buy it, do not punish yourself by pretending you are not seeing it. For example, so, simply because all the pretty girls are supporting Obi, for that reason, all the ugly girls, out of envy, should then refuse to also be Obidient? Today, there are over 560 support groups campaigning for the Mbah/Ossai Candidacy including Ebeano support group. So? Please form your own group and join up oo. Also, remember that, for good or for ill, Governor Sullivan closed and put a lid on that other era some 15 plus years ago. Abeg, face your front jare”, he miffed.

Taking a swift walk down memory lane, the former Chairman House of Representatives Committees on States and Local Government Affairs, Aviation, Tourism and Culture, and subcommittees on Railways, Erosion and Flood Control, KGB Oguakwa recalled that “even as a young vibrant Lawyer, Peter Mbah was saddened by the irksome abject lack of development in his native area and its environs. In trying to explore options for redress within the democratic political space, Peter Mbah way back then, called attention to both himself and his positively ingenious political capacity, inter alia, when, as a Chairmanship Candidate of a feeble opposition Party, he led his campaign team to almost successfully wrestle the Local Government Chairmanship election away from the ruling PDP in Nkanu East Local Government Area. It was such a shocking feat that an admiringly astonished Governor Nnamani insisted on meeting “the young man who brought you guys to your knees”.
“Subsequently invited to serve as Chief of Staff, Government House and later at the Finance and Economic Planning frontier of the Government, most of us remember the honest candour and scrupulous clarity which Peter Mbah brought to many a previously teething insurmountable problem,” Hon Oguakwa added.

“With the very visible Pinnacle miracle which is an economic and technological sustainably profitable $1b industrial monument, which was built from the ground up by this very credible son of Enugu State, and built to a level of investments proudly and publicly supported by a consortium of Banks, with high security clearance and a facility commissioned by Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, no other person in Enugu’s contemporary history has had this level of cogent and publicly verifiable CV or profile of outstanding individual record of success and is still willing to serve Ndi Enugu. Let’s grab this man with all our hands oo”, Oguakwa piqued.

Concluding the pitch, Rt Hon KGB Oguakwa enthused that “Peter Mbah is of the now. Peter Mbah is a distinct, focused and forthright individual in his own right. I trust him. I trust Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai too. I know that Peter Mbah is a man of his word. I urge ndi Enugu to, biko, just read this guy’s manifesto, make out time and listen to him as he eloquently discusses this his 62-paged “Statement of Purpose”-document, speaking for over two hours without reading from any piece of paper and explaining the issues while outlining clear, practical and workable ways in which he will tackle each and all of them.
