…redeems 1 million pledge to community, gifts motorcycle to Obeagu youth for his outstanding performance during the election
In Obeagu Community in Awgu Local government area of Enugu State, it was a carnival-like event on Sunday, 26th March, 2023 as one of their Illustrious sons, politician and philanthropist, Prince Gilbert Chikwado Chukwunta feted them in celebration of the electoral victory of Barr. Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Barr. Mbah was elected the governor of Enugu in the March 18th Governorship election held. In the state.
In the light of this, Prince Chukwunta who also aspired to fly the flag of the PDP in the governorship election rolled out the drums to welcome the Governor-elect and to also to thank his Obeagu community for standing by the party in the just concluded gubernatorial election.
Speaking to newsmen, Chukwunta who was also the deputy director, public communications and campaign spokesperson (West) of the PDP state campaign council said Mbah is the right man for the job at this material time and Enugu couldn’t have voted any better.
“Today, we’re celebrating the victory of my party; the PDP and my principal, Dr. Peter Mbah whom we believe has the capacity, character and needed competency to change the fortunes of the state. He has pedigree and track records of achievement judging by what he did with Pinnacle Oil and we’re convinced he will replicate same in Enugu.
He expressed optimism that Mbah has the capacity to work for Enugu and charged him to “go and work for Ndi Enugu, go and lift Enugu better than it’s.”
“In his manifesto, he said a lot and because of his proven record, we’ve absolute faith that he will deliver on his promises up to 85 percent and more.
Asked if there’s anything in particular Obeagu community will be expecting from the Mbah administration, Prince Chukwunta said their health centre needs urgent attention.
“Our health centre is dilapidated, we need it upgraded even to a cottage hospital to serve our people. Mbah talked about over 10,000km of roads, we believe our people will benefit from it because we need good roads to take our farm produce to the cities.
Represented by Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, the Governor-elect expressed happiness and gratitude with the gesture by the Obeagu Community, while thanking them for standing in solidarity with him during the campaigns and voting massively for him.
Nnajiofor who represents Nkanu East Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly assured them that “Mbah’s vision is very clear and he’s determined to make Enugu State one tye best 3 in the country where economy, peace, human development, ICT, tourism, education, rural and physical infrastructure will thrive.
“Mbah wants me to assure them that his manifesto will be implemented to the core and Obeagu will be implemented to the core.
The highpoints of the event was the donation of the sum of one million Naira, which was a pledge made by Prince Chukwunta and gifting a motorcycle to one of the youths from the community for his sterling performance during the governorship election.
