The member representing Ezeagu Constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chima Obieze has rejected the new increment in price of transport by the Enugu State Transport Company, ENTRACO.
JOURNALIST101 reports that in a new price review, ENTRACO fixed the price of transport from Enugu to Ezeagu N1,000 from the current price of N500 while a longer distances like Enugu to Oji River is fixed at N600, Enugu to Nsukka N800 while Enugu to Udi is N500. Enugu to 9th mile is N300, Iwollo to 9th mile is N500 and Udi to 9th mile N200.
In a a press statement made available to newsmen, Obieze said he doesn’t know “the rationale behind the cost Enugu to Iwollo going as high as 1000 even when the price of petrol is returning to almost normal.
“This hike is unacceptable to the people of Ezeagu and I’ll be engaging the management of ENTRACO to harmonise this charge to something with a human face.”
Obieze added that Ezeagu people should even enjoy a “better incentive because available statics shows that our people are among the top passengers that use the ENTRACO services.”
