A group under the aegis of Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association (ACIPA), has continued to disagree with the announcement of Bola Tinubu as the President-elect, saying that strong evidence shows that the All Progressive Congress (APC), and Tinubu lost the Presidential election.

ACIPA questioned the continuous erosion of truth in the country, saying that the fabric of the nation is continually being destroyed by corrupt politicians who only seek to fill their pockets.

ā€œWe have watched over the years as our values and heritage have been compromised and eroded, thus affecting the fabrics of our institutions and existenceā€, Chairman of ACIPA, Rev. Luke Shehu, said during a press briefing held at AREWA House Kaduna State on Tuesday.

ā€œThe graveyard silence that welcomed the controversial announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner speaks volume to the shame of both the desperate politicians as well as the INEC Chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu who have more to explain to Nigerians and the tribunalā€, Shehu continued.

According to him: ā€œINEC excuses and lies to Nigerians by the Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu are unacceptable and we strongly believe cannot be validated by the Presidential election petition tribunal.

ā€œWhile Nigeria and INEC in particular have become the laughing stock of nations, the circus of shameless corruption that was exposed after the Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner illegally announced Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed of APC as winner speaks volume of what transpired in Nasarawa, Kaduna, Gombe and a host of other States, both at the Governorship and Senatorial elections in most cases.

ā€œTruth is lacking just as there is near absence of patriotism and nationalism. Very few elder-statements including religious leaders dare speak against evil and injustice in public governance as well as abnormalities and impunity by government officials holding public trust. In clear terms, this is because the corrupt politicians whose claim to power at our collective detriment and peril do so with spite because they have come to believe that everyone has a price.

ā€œNigeria is at the precipice, needing an immediate redemption and restoration. Nigerians and particularly the youths have not only been shortchanged from the gains of democracy but have been shortchanged at the recent polls.

ā€œThe Presidential election result as announced by INEC is questionable without recourse to either the Constitution or the guidelines of INEC transmission of election results from Polling units to IREV smacks off unanswered questions and complicity that many are smiling to banks or personal vaults while justice and our destiny is trampled uponā€, Shehu said
