The State Director Of Security, Department of State Services, DSS, Aminu Hena, ADG, fsi, has called for more synergy between security agencies and media organizations in order to enhance the security and welfare of Nigerians.
Mr. Hena made the call during a courtesy visit by members of Private Broadcast Chapel (PBC), of Nigeria Union of Journalist, (NUJ), Enugu Council, to the Management of DSS in Enugu.
The State Director stressed the need to foster stronger relationships with media outlets in the state to better communicate security issues to Enugu residents, by ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.
He said that the partnership will foster a sense of responsibility between both agencies, minimize misinformation and curb the spread of fake news.
In his address, the Chairman, Private Broadcast, NUJ Enugu Council, Comrade Richard Asiegbu, commended the security agency for its efforts in ensuring safety of lives and properties in the state.
Comrade Asiegbu said that the visit was imperative to bridge the gap between the media and security agencies, as well as establish a symbiotic relationship to better serve residents of the state.
