The pronouncement by National and State Assembly election petitions tribunal that Dr. Festus Uzor of the Peoples Democratic Party is the rightful winner of Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency has been greeted with wild Jubilation. .
The panel led by Justice A.M Abubakar while ruling on the petition by Dr. Uzor, averred that Sunday Umeha, the candidate of the Labour Party didn’t properly resign from the PDP before seeking the ticket of the Labour Party.
The panel also held that even the purported resignation letter by Barr. Umeha was signed by someone that’s no longer a leader of the PDP.
Justice Abubakar thereafter, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to issue certificate of return to Dr. Uzor.
The declaration led to a wild jubilation in the court premises as the supporters of Dr. Uzor couldn’t contain their joy.
The celebration has been moved to Enugu campaign office of Dr. Uzor As his supporters are arriving in drones to celebrate their victory at the tribunal.
