The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has condemned the killing of five soldiers by suspected enforcers of sit-at-home in Aba, Abia State, saying that the killings have made many people widows.

Journalist101 reports that gunmen on Thursday, attacked a military checkpoint and killed five soldiers at Obikabia junction, Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State.

Speaking on the sideline during his appearance in Abuja High Court today, Kanu said “I condemn all manner of killings in its entirety because IPOB was founded on a non violent principle and we maintain that till this very day.”

Kanu said they can’t be fighting for the people and at the same time, making them widows and called for a halt of the killings in Igboland.

“…some of these soldiers we’re told are our people and the family is now in mourning. All the making of young widows is condemned in its entirety. I don’t want it! I don’t want anybody to die!!. We’re fighting for freedom.
