Many persons attending a wedding at Gwoza, a town in Borno State have been killed as a suicide bomber hit the venue.
According to reports, the wedding guests are among the victims, according to a source who said many others sustained injuries in the attack.
Details of the incident are sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Suicide attacks were common in Borno during the heat of insurgency, but security forces have to a large extent contained the situation.
Quoting a security source, Daily Trust reports that it was not clear whether the incident was caused by a bomb blast or suicide bombers.
“We had twin blasts today; the first occurred around Hausari and the second around Mararaba area where people sell bicycles and items,” the source said.
Soldiers have reportedly taken over the streets of Gwoza.
