Enugu-born multi-talented personality, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani JP, was honored on Thursday, August 1st, by the Commonwealth Organization, Nigeria, as the Most Outstanding Young Leader in the South East.

This event took place at the National Merit Award House in Maitama, Abuja, during the annual Commonwealth Organization, Nigeria Ambassadorial and Merit Award program.

In a statement by the Secretary General of Commonwealth Organization, Nigeria, Prince Musa Abubakar Abutu, he stated that the Commonwealth recognizes and honors exceptional individuals annually—those who maintain an untarnished image based on admirable track records and remarkable reputations shaped by their leadership and humanitarian contributions to society. The Commonwealth should not be viewed as common; rather, it is a common service to the most ordinary people in society.

He acknowledged that Hon. Monday Diamond Ani JP (Odoziobodo) has been closely monitored over the years by the research and evaluation team of Commonwealth Organization, Nigeria, and the UK, and indeed, his track record and reputation are enviable.

According to Prince Abubakar Abutu, “Mr. Diamond, we have followed your activities and heard much about you. Everyone who knows you respects you because your service to humanity, integrity, and reputation are admirable. Hence, we decided to nominate and honor you this year.”

In response, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani expressed gratitude to the Commonwealth Organization, promising to continue serving society with the many gifts bestowed upon him.

He also dedicated the award to the Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Peter Mbah, for his record-breaking infrastructural developments in Enugu State.

The Commonwealth Organization, Nigeria, is the country’s component of the Commonwealth Organization based in the United Kingdom and is chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while the secretarial and administrative functions are managed by Prince Musa Abubakar Abutu, who serves as the Secretary General.
