Communities and stakeholders of Uzo Uwani LGA in Enugu State have voiced their fervent praise for Governor Dr. Peter Mbah and party leaders for nominating Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu as the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming local government council elections this October.
They unanimously declare him the unrivaled choice for the position.
They vehemently rejected what they termed as exaggerated and malicious media attacks on Ezugwu’s candidacy, dismissing them as the desperate ploys of those who harbor ill intentions toward Uzo Uwani.
In a statement jointly endorsed by the revered traditional leader of Nkpologu community, HRH Igwe Simeon Idu, and the esteemed Igwe Jude Okeke of Nkpunator autonomous community, they extolled Ezugwu as the right man for the job—a dedicated servant who has consistently proven himself in various capacities throughout Uzo Uwani.
“The Igwe in Council and the Town Union of Nkpologu Attah community extend their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Dr. Peter Mbah and the PDP delegates, whose insightful endorsement and nomination of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu as our chairmanship candidate reflect wisdom and conviction,” they proclaimed.
“Chief Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu stands as a pillar of strength in Nkpologu and the wider Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area. His unwavering commitment shines through his roles as former PDP Youth Leader, former Councillor for Nkpologu Ward, and Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Uzo-Uwani LGA.
“During his tenure as Chief Security Officer, Ezugwu was instrumental in fostering the peace and security that have graced Nkpologu and the entire region throughout the previous administration.
“We are, therefore, appalled by the malicious and unfounded attacks against our esteemed son, Chief Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, orchestrated by shadowy figures intent on tarnishing the hard-earned reputation he has forged through years of unwavering dedication to his people.
“The accusations leveled by these faceless individuals are not only baseless but also aimed solely at defaming a man whose character shines with integrity. Indeed, Chief Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu is a distinguished legal practitioner, never having faced charges or conviction of any crime.
“Nkpologu community, through its leaders, hereby issues an unequivocal warning to anyone who attempts to perpetuate further falsehoods or malicious libel against our beloved son. We stand ready to pursue legal action for defamation or to hold accountable those who engage in cyber-crime and character assassination. Nkpologu Attah community unyieldingly rallies behind her son in all his political endeavors,” one of the statements reads.
