The National Ex Officio of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, representing Enugu State, Hon. Princess Nneka Okoro, has expressed her satisfaction with the recently concluded local government party congresses in Enugu State, where mostly youths and women emerged as candidates for council chairmen, deputies, and party executives across all local government areas.
In her words, “Our governor is a promise keeper (OKWENKWA EMEKWA).” She recalled how she had approached the governor several times before the congresses, advocating for the inclusion of youths and women in his government, particularly in the local councils. “Lo and behold, we witnessed a congress that truly represented youths and women. Your Excellency, thank you.”
She also expressed gratitude to the governor for the emergence of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, Agunechibe 1 of Nkpologu, as the party’s flag bearer in Uzouwani LG for the council chairmanship election scheduled for October 5th this year.
“Chijioke is a round peg in a round hole. He is not just a youth; he is a vibrant one who understands the security challenges we face in our community. His Excellency has shown he values rotation; it is now the turn of the Adada development center in Uzo-Uwani to produce the next local government executive chairman, and Barr. Chijioke is a bona fide indigene of Adada development center, specifically Nkpologu. Your Excellency, we are grateful.
“Your Excellency, I am delighted that you have given us a man who will replicate your developmental and infrastructural vision for Enugu State in Uzo Uwani local government. Chijioke will deliver, having been a grassroot politician for over a decade. He is a local boy, familiar with the terrain, and I am confident he will bring the dividends of democracy to our people. He has the capability to transform our local government.”
