The Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) has ordered the arrest of Wang Yilin, the former Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), on suspicion of bribery.

This announcement was made by the SPP on Wednesday.

Wang, who previously served as the secretary of the leading Party members group at CNPC, has had his case referred to prosecutors for review.

Following the conclusion of an investigation conducted by the National Commission of Supervision, he will undergo examination and prosecution, according to the SPP.

Additionally, Wang has been expelled from the Communist Party of China, as stated in an official announcement released in late July.
