Renown legal practitioner, Barr. Henry Nnanna Okeke has described the seamless conduct of local government election in Enugu state today as evidence of governor Peter Mbah’s absolute belief in democracy.
Barr. Nnanna who was reacting to the peaceful conduct of the exercise in the state said “His Excellency has today earned a historical badge of honour as the Standard-Bearer of the tenets of a Democratic society.
“Today’s hitch free Local Council election in the seventeen Local Government Areas of Enugu State brings us closer to the much desired rural economic development, rural inclusiveness, and rural Democratic governance.”
He went further to congratulate Ndi Enugu for the exercise and their active participation, while urging the winners to count themselves fortunate working with governor Mbah.
“Therefore, I congratulate Ndi Enugu. I salute our people for showing great enthusiasm in today’s local government election. A new Enugu State is evolving, and we are fortunate to have a governor who is a core Democrat and a Standard-Bearer.
“As we anticipate the results of the polls, I enjoin the winners to realize that they are fortunate to work with a Standard-Bearer, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah who has already set the tone for massive rural development. It is a good time in the history of Enugu State to be elected Council Chairmen and Councilors.
