Nigerians are voicing their frustration over the recent increase in fuel prices announced by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (NNPCL), warning that it will exacerbate poverty among the populace.
In Abuja, the capital city, fuel previously priced at N897 per litre has surged to N1,030. Similarly, in Lagos, the price has jumped from N885 to N998 per litre, sparking long queues at fuel stations.
In response, many Nigerians have turned to social media to share their concerns and frustrations.

The development comes 24 hours after Daily Trust reported a likely pump price increase as a result of NNPCL’s exit as a middleman in the Dangote Refinery fuel purchase deal.
