Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State, has tragically lost his son, Faisal Ahmed, in a road accident on the Kaduna-Zaria Highway.

A family source, who requested anonymity, confirmed that the deceased was involved in an accident but did not provide details about his death.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

“The accident happened this evening. He was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where he was declared dead. His father was present at the hospital; his body has since been transported home for burial preparations,” a source informed Daily Trust.

Makarfi, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), could not be contacted for comments at the time of this report.

Faisal, a trained civil engineer, attended Kaduna International School before completing his secondary education at Adesoye College in Offa, Kwara State. He later pursued his undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Greenwich in London and registered for a PhD at the same institution.

Social activist and former senator, Shehu Sani, also confirmed the death of the former governor’s son, while condoling with the family.

He said, “Just received the sad news of the death of Faisal the Son of HE Senator Ahmed Makarfi.May Allah grant him Aljanna firdausi.Amin.”
