Stakeholders in Enugu North Local Government Area, represented by the Forum of Former Local Government Chairmen, have commended Dr. Ibenaku Onoh for his significant achievements since taking office as council chairman.
On Monday, the former chairmen, from various political parties, conveyed their praise during a courtesy visit to Dr. Onoh at the Enugu North Local Government Secretariat on Ọkpara Avenue.
During the meeting, former chairman Hon. Emeka Edeh expressed that Dr. Onoh’s policies and initiatives have instilled confidence in his administration’s potential for success. He highlighted the team’s efforts in decongesting areas such as Ogbete, Holy Ghost, Old Park, and New Market, which have improved mobility for residents through collaboration with security agencies, market leaders, transport unions, and other stakeholders.
Edeh also noted that the cleanliness of the council secretariat reflects a promising future.
Hon. Emma Onoh, another former chairman, referred to Dr. Onoh as a 21st-century global leader and a unifier, whose vision aims to create a lasting legacy while building on the achievements of his predecessors. He assured Dr. Onoh of the Forum’s ongoing support.
The Forum also lauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his dedication to development in the state, emphasizing the benefits his administration has brought to the council.
They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting both Governor Mbah and Dr. Onoh in their efforts for continued success.
In response, Dr. Onoh expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the group since the primaries. He shared that his administration has initiated programs focused on enhancing security, health, education, and infrastructure, in line with Governor Mbah’s vision.
Dr. Onoh urged the former chairmen to persist in their support for both the Governor and his administration.
Among the former council chairmen present were Hon. Gabriel Onoh, Hon. Charles Ayalogu, Hon. Ben Onyia, Hon. Emma Ngwu, Hon. Emmanuel Onoh, Hon. Herbert Oji, Hon. Emeka Edeh, and Hon. Emeka Onunze.
They all emphasized the unity and camaraderie that Dr. Onoh has fostered, praising his ability to unite people across political lines to create a positive atmosphere in the council. This spirit of inclusiveness, they agreed, is essential for achieving progress and development in Enugu North Local Government Area.
