Senator Austin Akobundu, representing the Abia Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, urged participants of his Cosmetology and Paint Making skills acquisition program to leverage the knowledge gained during their training. He assured them of his ongoing support as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys.
The Senator made this promise over the weekend at the Kolping Centre in Umuahia, where he presented cash awards and certificates to over 150 participants at the closing ceremony.
Senator Akobundu reaffirmed his commitment to empowering the youth of the senatorial district with competitive and profitable skills, transforming them from job seekers into job creators.
“I am dedicated to the next generation of our senatorial district,” he said. “It is vital that we provide them with focused guidance through globally competitive skills that enable them to create jobs rather than just seek them.”
He added, “In my first year in the Senate, I have already sponsored nine empowerment and skills acquisition programs. Let me assure our community, this is just the beginning.”
Addressing the graduates, Senator Akobundu congratulated them on completing the training and encouraged them to put their newly acquired skills to productive use.
In response, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Senator for the training and financial support and pledged to be exemplary representatives of his leadership and service.
