The Police Command in Akwa Ibom has confirmed the deaths of a former ExxonMobil employee at Villa Marina Hotels and a police officer who traveled from Lagos to Akwa Ibom for an assignment at Tevoli Hotels, both located in the Eket area.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, shared this information during an interview on Friday in Eket. She reported that the contractor for the multinational oil company died on Sunday, while the police officer passed away on October 14.

According to police reports, the former ExxonMobil employee slipped after exiting the bathroom and fell, striking his head on the tiles, which ultimately led to his death.

John was unable to provide the names of the deceased at the time of this report.

“The former ExxonMobil employee died in the hotel in Eket due to a slip after he came out of the bathroom, which resulted in him hitting his head on the tiles,” John stated.

She also mentioned that the necessary investigations have been completed, and the police have released the body to the family for burial. In addition, she confirmed that the police officer from Lagos died of heart failure.
