The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has given the breakdown of the meeting held by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima with Governors of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n
Tinubu alongside his running mate, met with some party governors and leaders in order to strategize on how the party will win the forthcoming presidential election.<\/p>\n
Giving the details of the meeting, Governor El-Rufai who spoke with newsmen a few minutes after the closed-door meeting disclosed that the APC Presidential Campaign Council will be unveiled soon.<\/p>\n
According to him, after submitting a report of a consultation committee to Tinubu on Monday, the decision of who should emerge as the Director-General of the Council would be disclosed.<\/p>\n
The Governor further disclosed that the report will be presented to the party\u2019s National Working Committee (NWC) before Tinubu unveils members of the council.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cThis is a delegation of the Progressive Governors Forum led by our Chairman Dr Atiku Bagudu and the party represented by the National Secretary.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe came to report on an assignment given to us by our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate to begin the broad consultations and develop a structure for the presidential campaign council.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have done some work on it. We have briefed the candidate and his running mate and inputs have been taken we hope that in the shortest possible time the candidate will consult more with the party leadership and brief Mr President and get his input and then we formally unveil the presidential campaign council.<\/p>\n
\u201cA decision has been taken on the Director-General but other positions in the campaign council are still been discussed. The President and the National Chairman and National Working Committee will be briefed before a formal announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
