The Enugu police command, have confirmed the death of over 10 persons following a fatal accident at at Akegbe-Ugwu, along Enugu\/Port-Harcourt Expressway.<\/p>\n
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a terse statement made available to newsmen in Enugu, said the accident occured on the 30th of October, 2022 at about 9.30pm.<\/p>\n
Ndukwe said the vehicle; a Toyota Hiace Bus with reg. no. KTG 41 XD, conveying twelve (12) passengers, traveling from Owerri, Imo State to Kano State rammed into a “broken-down and stationary Howo Sino truck, at Akegbe-Ugwu, along Enugu\/Port-Harcourt Expressway and bursted into fire, leading to eleven (11) of the travellers suffering severe burnt before emergency help could get to them.<\/p>\n
“They were taken to the hospital and confirmed dead by doctors on duty.<\/p>\n
“Meanwhile, further investigation has been initiated by the Motor Traffic Department (MTD) of the Command, please,” the statement said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
