The Nigeria Senate on Tuesday called on the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU to call off their on going strike which have lasted for over 3weeks and paralysed the health sector in the country.
The plea came after senator Remi Tinubu raised a point of order, alerting the lawmakers of the issue of the Ebola virus currently happening at the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Senator Victor Umeh who seconded the motion thank Senator Tinubu for raising the issue and said it is very important for the Senate house to take the motion very seriously.
“Senator Remi Tinubu did very well by raising this alarm raising this alarm and putting various agencies connected to this issue on alert. Prevention is better than cure” Senator Umeh said.
Senator James Manager also urges Nigerians to be very very alert to avoid an outbreak of the said virus.
It will be recalled that the JOHESU had embarked on an industrial action since April 18th over what it described as the “insensitivity and lackadaisical attitude of the drivers of the health sector.
