The immediate past governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, is currently in a closed-door meeting with senators of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The meeting, which journalists are denied access to, started around 3:30 p.m.
Mr Oshiomoleās visit to the senators may not be unconnected with his ambition to become the chairman of APC.
He made a similar visit to the House of Representatives last week where he was endorsed by the Reps caucus of the APC.
The national convention of the party, where a new chairman will be elected, will hold on June 2.
Mr Oshiomhole is expected to slug it out with incumbent John Odigie-Oyegun for the chairmanship position.
