My attention has been drawn to a certain nefarious publication online and on social media written in my name and being circulated by one Sir OAU Onyema & his supporters.
This singular act by a man I considered a brother and friend has left me pondering what sort of character Mr Onyema who has brought a great dishonour to the prefix “Sir” which he attaches to his names represents.
I wish to state without mincing words that a man that can put up an article “which is a figment of his imagination” and append my name is not worthy to be a ward councillor how much more the elevated position of a Senator.
In view of setting the records straight, I wish to state as follows;
That at no time did I write or authorise anyone to write such an Article in my name in whatever guise.
That I am one of the strongest supporters of Sen. Ike Ekweremadu in Enugu West and I do believe that the Igbo nation and Indeed Nigeria as a country need Ekweremadu at this time. Therefore, anyone seeking to stop him is not only an enemy of the Igbos but also a little mind incapable of existing amongst homo sapiens.
That I remain a committed member of Ikeoha youth movement(Enugu West Youth General assembly) under the patroonship of Hon. Barr. Chima Obieze who has been my mentor in all my political pursuits and endeavours.
That Ekweremadu has done so much for the people of Enugu West if which Umuabi is a major beneficiary in terms of physical infrastructures and human empowerment.
That the only way I will support another candidate for the Senate of Enugu West is when I know that Ekweremadu is aspiring for a higher political position or a higher assignment to continue his good works for the people.
The statement being shared in my name is misleading and an attempt by political detractors to spoil my Good relationship with the Ikeoha family.
That all those sharing this false information should henceforth desist from this dastardly act as I will not hesitate to seek a legal redress if this article is not withdrawn and an apology tendered to me within the next 72 hours.
I also plead with our leader, His Excellency the Deputy Senate President to discard this information as it’s false and never a representation of my position for the 2019 Enugu West Senatorial election at any time.
