Mallam Adamu Ciroma, a statesman, presidential hope and the first editor of the New Nigerian, the most influential newspaper in its days at the age of 84.

The deceased, was a founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

He was a finance minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo administration from 1999 to 2003.
He was also minister of agriculture

He died at the Turkiush Hospital in Abuja on Thursday.
