Kwankwaso denied access to Eagle Square’
A head of Rabiu Kwankwaso’s official declaration of presidential ambition slated for tomorrow (Wednesday), in Abuja, there are strong indications that the PDP presidential hopeful may be denied access to Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the event.
A reliable source within Kwankwaso’s campaign organisation who pleaded anonymity confirmed that relevant government agencies have vehemently refused to allow Kwankwaso, who is considered as a top PDP presidential aspirant, to use the Eagle Square for his official declaration.
According to the source, “permission was duely sought but it is shocking that security agencies acting on the instructions of the Presidency have refused Kwankwaso and his allies access into the square.
“They told us that government want to use the square for an official event in the morning, and we requested for permission to use it later in the day after government is done with their own programme but they refused to allow us use the venue,” the source said.
“Kwankwaso’s official declaration will attract a huge crowd to Abuja. The APC-led Federal government may be afraid that the influx of Kwankwaso’s supporters into the seat of governance will embarrass President Buhari and his supporters,” the source alleged.
