Prince Ozioma Ani, one of the front line runners for Enugu North and South Federal House of Representatives stepped out in an unusual manner to declare his intent to represent his people in the green chamber under the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).
In his declaration speech, Prince Ani said his entry into the political arena is to contribute in changing the future of the nation “My new walk is litteraly for the future of a new Enugu and Indeed Nigeria, certainly not this one we currently live in”
Stating that the country is currently in a bad shape, Prince Ani said that the labours of the founding fathers of our nation is looking in an opposite direction of what they toiled for, “The Nigeria of today is totally out of shape, Politically, Economically, Socially and otherswise, The Labour of our Heroes past seem to have been in vain”.
Mr. Ani questioned the process of selection of our leaders and most importantly, “Our Law Makers” decrying a situation where the worst crop of leaders rules the best against the ideal process of the best leading the rest.
“Positions as sensitive as that of law and policy making which should be manned by the very best and brightest minds are used as modes of settlement rather than burdens of competence. It has been a cycle of the worst ruling the best rather than the best leading the rest”.
The high points of the declaration was when the aspirant Prince Ani made it expressly clear that he’s ready to sign a social contract with his constituents that will be legally bounding and that he is willing and ready to stand by it.
When asked how he intends to win the election and what are his chances, the Coordinator of Ozioma Mandate Group 2019 (OMG2019) Mr Samuel Ajufo said that they have devised strategies that will make them reach the unreached, disenfranchised and marginalized electorates. He Said that these category of voters accounts for over 60 percent of the voters and they are sure of making them to come out to vote on the election day and most importantly, to vote for their candidate.
On winning the election, Prince Ani said emphatically that with what they have on ground, he is 80% sure of winning the election.
On the burning National issue of restructuring, Prince Ani responded by saying that “restructuring is the only way we can move forward”.
