The Nigeria police have arrested one Mr. Adeagbo Wasiu, for Alleged Vote buying in the ongoing Osun state Gubernatorial election.
In a Statement released by the police, the said mr. Wasiu is suspected to be a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and was caught in the act with the sum of N166,000.
Below is the statement released by the Nigeria police via its twitter handle.
“Arrest of one Mr Adeagbo Wasiu, a suspected PDP Chieftain at Ward 8 Unit 9 Fiwasaye Area of Osogbo. He was apprehended in the act of votes buying and the sum of One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand (116,000) was recovered from him. Investigation is ongoing”
In the same vein, some police officers also arrested two other people in the same act of vote buying.
The Nigeria police also wrote;
“Two (2) suspected vote buyers have been arrested by a team of police personnel on election duty at Iwo LGA of OSUN State and the sum of N604,000 recovered from their possession. Investigation is being intensified”.
