Nasiru Darazo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bauchi State, has alleged that Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State would rather support the 2019 ambition of former vice president, Abubakar Atiku, who yesterday emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate.
This was as the APC chieftain lamented that party supporters in the state were in disarray and aggrieved following “the illegality and irregularities of the party’s so-called primary election”.
Darazo told DAILY POST exclusively on Monday in Bauchi that Governor Abubakar is a known Atiku’s errand boy in politics.
“In fact, Governor Abubakar is well known with Atiku in politics , so the emergence of the former President as PDP presidential candidate is a slap to President Buhari in Bauchi state because APC will surely lose to PDP,” he claimed.
Darazo stressed that Governor Abubakar allegedly voted against Buhari and supported Atiku in the APC presidential primary in Lagos in 2014.
He warned the APC national headquarters not to be deceived by the political posture of Governor Abubakar of his support for Buhari to win in the state come 2019.
“Abubakar will lose to the opposition in Bauchi and it will affect Buhari’s chances, especially now that no primary election was held in the state but imposed by the same Abubakar,” Darazo said.
He warned that if nothing was eventually done to replace Governor Abubakar as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi, nothing would prevent the party from losing to the PDP in 2019, stressing that Buhari’s chance of winning the presidential election in Bauchi is now slim.
