The Bishop of Living Faith Church (aka Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, yesterday said the inability of the government to arrest killer herdsmen in some part of the Middle Belt zone was because the killers are agents of the government.
Speaking in Ota, Ogun State, at the Church’s Sunday Service titled ‘Covenant Day of Settlement and Thanksgiving’, the clergyman stated that it is absurd for the government to fail in arresting some self-confessed killer herders in Jos, Plateau State.
The church had embarked on seven-day prayer and fasting for Nigeria, which ended yesterday. Oyedepo said: “Help me ask them how many mosques have been destroyed by these people? You can also ask them how many of those who have destroyed the church has ever been caught? How many of the destroyed churches has government ever added a dime to rebuild? “I have said it, let us remove the mask from the masquerade and nobody will fear it anymore.
Government is part of this thing; you don’t need to go to school to know that. “If people claimed responsibilities to the killings in Jos and were not arrested, the question is who is to arrest them? Is it the citizens or government? It’s the government, but they cannot arrest them because they are their agents.”
The Bishop said the era of docility in the church is over, adding that: “The church you used to know is not the church of today. The church of today kills and makes alive. Get ready, the sentence of death is passed on the killers and their sympathizers. The battle is won in Jesus’ name. “If this church is not comfortable for you, please move.
God sent me. I am not speaking for any party, government or anybody. I don’t belong to any. I have never discussed any prophetic declaration with anyone, not even my wife. “If my own blood son were in power, I won’t say anything less. If you have relations there, warn them.
The arrows of death have been released. Don’t move the church into action,” he said. Oyedepo bemoaned the recent killings in Kaduna and Adamawa states, saying that the current leadership in the country wants to destroy the country and run away. “Two very gruesome killings took place during the week; one in Adamawa State where some villages were razed and churches destroyed. The other is in Kaduna. “I am not aware if any arrest was made, but that is the culture. We have never seen it this terrible in Nigeria.
“This last week, a firstclass chief in the mold of Eze, Oba or Emir, was slaughtered like a chicken and his body dumped by the roadside on Kaduna-Abuja road. “The late chief was a Christian because they want to turn the local government to an emirate. There is nothing these wicked people can’t imagine. “Let us remove the mask from this government. Let us speak the truth to ourselves.
They want to destroy this nation and run away. They don’t have a heart for anybody. “Kaduna has been locked up on 24 hours curfew. But I don’t think it has any meaning anyway. They have killed the person they want to kill. Enough is enough.
The souls of men are my business,” he said. Leading a prayer session for the nation, Oyedepo urged politicians to repent and have value for the lives of citizens, warning that if they do not repent, they would fall down for the sake of the nation. “Politicians be warned, whether in power or not in power.
There is no day Nigeria will become an Islamic nation and this nation will remain one nation. “Allow the Christians to go to church, allow the Muslims go to their mosque and let the traditional worshippers do their thing. “God is giving Nigeria peace by all means, the peace of those promoting this wickedness, God is taking away, if they refuse to repent. Their supplies shall dry up because Nigeria shall not see war.”
While stating that every leader is a caretaker and God remains the creator and owner of every nation, including Nigeria, he added that Nigeria would have peace when they understand that God is in control of everything, including the land. “When a caretaker starts behaving like a landlord he will be removed. God is the permanent landlord of the earth.
“Too many arrogant foes who pose to own this nation, be warned because the day of God’s judgement is here.“Those who sponsor and perpetrate killings and also offer covering for killers to keep killing, God will lead them to rest. God will give us peace in this country by all means.
“God enthrones kings and removes kings,” he said. The clergyman further placed curses on the killers of a First Class Chief in Kaduna State, the Agom Adara, His Royal Highness Maiwada Galadima, who was kidnapped and later found dead. “All those involved in the killing of Galadima and his aides, their generation will be forgotten. Every one of the perpetrators they will end up in shame,” he said.
