The crisis rocking the Kano State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP seems to be nose diving. The result of the just concluded party primaries is believed to be the root of the crisis rocking the party in the state.

The rumour of the departure of the former Deputy Governor of the State Professor Hafiz Abubakar and a loyalist of Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso is turning out to be true following reports by Daily Trust.

Professor Abubakar, a close ally of ex- Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, resigned from his positions as deputy governor to Abdullahi Ganduje and Commissioner of Education on August 4, 2018 and subsequently joined PDP.

Professor Abubakar made the confirmation to Daily Trust yesterday via SMS when one of their reporters sent him a text message requesting for confirmation.

“It is true and I will speak soonest,” the message stated.

He had soon after defecting to the PDP vied for the governorship ticket with sources saying he would be supported by Kwankwaso to win the election but that did not happen.

The former deputy governor is yet to make open, his next decision or the political party he will be joining.
