The controversy, suspense and tensed atmosphere surrounding the outcome of the primaries of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, seems to be coming to an end. The Party has published the list of the candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The APC list saw the Governors of Imo and Ogun states loosing out completely as the names of their preferred candidates were obviously missing in the list.
In the case of Rivers State, the party went ahead to publish the name of the candidate preferred by the leader of the party in the state, Rotimi Amaechi, Tonye Cole. It’s not clear if the publication was made before rhe national Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole said they will respect the judgement of the Supreme Court which dismissed the leadership of the party In the state as illegal.
The candidate for Zamfara state was obviously missing. This is following the position of INEC that the party has no candidate for any election in the state.
