The APC gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Senator Ayogu Eze has reacted to the death of Nigeria’s first democratic President, Shehu Shagari.
According to the Former Senate committee Chairman on works, “the news of Shehu Shagari’s death marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s political history.”
Senator Ayogu Eze described the former President as an embodiment of Peace, humility and will be greatly missed by the country for his simplicity and style of politics that is devoid of bitterness.
“He was an epitome of peace, humility, and never ever lost his cool even at the height of his powers as one of Nigeria’s most powerful presidents.
“Nigeria will miss his simplicity and his unique brand of politics without bitterness.
“He was a detribalized Nigerian who lived a simple life, shunning a life of ostentation and pageantry since leaving office over three decades.”
“He was a good man” Senator Ayogu said.
