A truck carrying maize and live cows today fell into a ditch along the Enugu -Abakaliki Express road.
The accident occurred just opposite the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Office, during the early hours of today.
Eye witnesses at the scene who claimed to be there when the accident happened said no fewer than 5lives were lost and a number of cows were also dead.
Few hours after the accident, Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps were seen at the scene evacuating bodies of both human beings and the cows.
Also, some police officers were also at the scene ensuring law and order is being maintained.
As at the time of this report, no official statement have been made by the state command of either the Police or Road Safety.
