The controversy that trailed the last Thursday ruling on the leadership of the APC in Enugu State by an Enugu high court has finally been put to rest by the state chairman of the party Barr. Ben Nwoye
Addressing press men in his office at the state party office, Barr. Nwoye said that the “April Fool News” that he was removed by court, is just “a false alarm” reiterating that he still retains his position as the only Chairman of Enugu State APC having survived over seven litigations filed in multiple courts and in different states.
He however supported those that went to court are right in doing so but whoever that goes to court must come with clean hands.
“Lawsuit is a democractic process and we are in a democracy so when people feel aggrieved or that their rights have been short changed, they have every right to go to court just like Okey Ogbodo who has gone to court.
“The records are still clear that Okey Ogbodo is not a member of the APC, everybody in Enugu Politics understands that Okey Ogbodo is a PDP man who is paid by the PDPbloggers in Enugu State to destroy and destabilize Enugu State APC.
“That fact became very clear on Thursday, 17th, January when they paid new age media and some bloggers to disseminate to Enugu people and the rest of the world false news despite the clear pronouncement by the court, the incompetency of Okey Ogbodo’s paper, despite a well reasoned opinion of the court,
“Okey Ogbodo and those who sponsored him-the PDP are entitled to their opinion but they are not entitled to they are not entitled to their own fact, the fact remains that I still remain the chairman of APC, Enugu State”
On the rumoured disqualification of APC candidates in the state, the APC Chairman maintained that “the outcome of the court on Thursday does nothing to the candidates of the party in the state, APC candidates are not in any jeopardy and we are going to win all the elective positions in the coming election fair and square”.
Ben Nwoye described the PDP as a “sinking ship that has lost tactics, plan and has no method on how to canvass votes has resulted to using Okey Ogbodo and some unwillin participants to destabilize the system.”
He took a clean sweep on the Local Government Chairman of Igboeze North, a member of the PDP for falling for the “April fool” judgement and going as far as feeding passersby and even going all the way to the government house jubilating that APC doesn’t have candidates.
He assured them that the PDP’s Achilles heels and the man they are dangerously afraid of, Most Distinguished, Senator Ayogu Eze is very much in the race and is the real lion that’s going to take over the Lion Building come May 2019.
Ben Nwoye enjoined the PDP “to leave the old practice of destructive tendency aside” as their desire to have Enugu as a one party system will never see the light of the day and their last attempt to have APC field weak candidates have failed woefully.
