The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has responded to the allegation by the Opposition PDP who is challenging the outcome of the Presidential election in court over alleged massive rigging of the election.

The Spokesman to the Chairman of INEC, Rotimi Oyekanmi, told TheCable that “if and when the commission receives the order” they will comply with the court directive.

Mr. Rotimi went further to say that “It is common knowledge that since the declaration of the results of the presidential election, the commission has been busy with the multiple activities associated with the national assembly, governorship, state houses of assembly and federal capital territory elections.

“Only last Thursday, the commission presented certificates of return to senators-elect and house of representatives members-elects including PDP members.

“Nevertheless, the commission will comply when the due process is followed.”

Recall that yesterday, they PDP released a press statement stating that INEC has been served with the court order yet, they have refused them access to the election materials.
