Residents fled homes last night when suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked Molai community near Maiduguri, Borno State. It was learnt that the insurgents stormed the community around 6.30pm, shooting sporadically.
The attackers were also said to have set many houses ablaze. “They (Boko Haram) came at about 6:30pm and started shooting. The soldiers tried to repel the attack, but they (insurgents) were many.
I don’t know where my wife and children are now, I am seriously confused. I am standing in front of NNPC MEGA station now.” A resident told our correspondent on the telephone.
The chairman of civil society organisations in the state,Ahmed Shehu, stated: “Let us put people of Molai community in our prayers, the community is currently under attack by insurgents. Molai is located about 5 kilometres to Maiduguri”.
